2008-09 State Divisions-NEW INFO 7/1/08; See Accepted team list below!

THANK YOU TO THE TEAMS THAT HAVE RESPONDED SO FAR. EVERYONE IS INVITED TO APPLY, AND NO MONEY IS NEEDED TO APPLY. Once accepted your team will have 72 hours to accept the invitation and make payment. We have had teams apply from Region A, B, & C. Members of our State Division Board chose teams to be accepted based upon the following criteria:

  1. Did the team make it to round of 16 in State Cup
  2. Did the team participate in R III Premier in 2007-08
  3. Did the team win Presidents Cup Winners
  4. How well did the team do in MAJOR College Showcase Tournaments? (Texas Shootout, Orange Classic, Surf Cup, Disney Showcase, Raleigh, Jefferson Cup etc.)
  5. Does the team have at least 75% return from last years team. If not, have they added players who played on another team from the criteria outlined above. Have two teams merged to form a stronger club?

Here is where we stand with our divisions:
U 13: remainder of invites going out July 3rd. we have six teams committed already!
U 14: Parkland; Plantation; Miami Lakes; Weston; Island Soccer Alliance; West Pines; Dunedin; Cooper City; Melbourne Beach; Makos.

U- 15: Island Soccer Alliance; Miami Premier; Plantation; West Pines; Palm Beach United; Weston; Pinecrest; Wellington.

U-16: Sunrise; Palm Beach United; Plantation; Island Soccer Alliance; Weston; Naples; Caliguri Strike Force; Kendall Soccer Coalition; Melbourne Beach Tsunami; West Pines; Hobe Sound. PENDING: Maitland

U17/18: Miami Premier; Plantation(2); Jupiter; Island Soccer Alliance; Jensen Beach

We welcome you to this select group of teams! FLUGSA had proposed to FSL that in order to cut costs, that teams play in their respective leagues, and twice during the season "Interleague" games are played. That way the best teams get to play, and travel costs are reduced SUBSTANTIALLY. We heard back from FSL and unfortunately for all they declined to work together; their only comment was that they chose to remain independent. This is unfortunate.

The Director of our State Division program is Steve Burgess. Here are our coordinators/volunteers so far. If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact flugsainfo@bellsouth.net.

With FLUGSA's vast networking with some of the top colleges in the country, clubs will be asked to provide team brochures to the league. More Information

Unverified or Temporary passes
FLUGSA has consulted with FYSA on the issue of player pass verification. The current policy is: No players will be allowed to participate in FLUGSA Games with TEMPORARY or UNVERIFIED passes. Sanctions for violations of this policy may include game forfeiture, suspension of coaches and club fines.

Clubs normally have 10 days in which to send the appropriate paperwork to FYSA in order to VERIFY a player's birth date. The ease with which player passes can be printed and used may have caused some clubs to delay sending in their paperwork. Referee assignors will be notified to instruct all of their referees to refuse to allow players to participate if the pass shows UNVERIFIED. Even, if a referee allows a player to play with an unverified pass, the same sanctions will apply.
